Consultation
Consultation with people with lived experience of disease and the general public is key to what we do. The process starts with Co design of projects. We believe that the work we undertake to should be focused on the needs and priorities of the people affected by the work.
Once designed for projects which involve use of NHS there are the health data without consent, we undertake a rigorous process consultation. This work aims to establish a representative opinion of the value of work and whether use of this data is justified to achieve the same. We used a variety of mediums including focus groups, online surveys and one-to-one interviews to ensure this consultation takes into account the opinions of the full diversity of the region and UK.
Throughout our process we have a process of oversight which involves external researchers, members of the public, people with lift experience of disease and the project team. We will always take into account and be guided by the overt study oversight committee before making decisions particularly when related to data use.
In order to further these aims we formed the CREATE B Consortium. Funded by a university of Plymouth explore award this innovative approach to public and patient engagement
